In a move aimed at enhancing user trust and combating misinformation, Meta, the social media giant formerly known as Facebook, has launched its Verified Account Service in India at a monthly subscription basis with the price of Rs. 699.
This service allows public figures, celebrities, and influential individuals to authenticate their accounts with a verified blue tick, similar to Twitter’s verification process.

Users in India will now be able to request the verified account status using the Meta app or website. Not all users, however, will be qualified for verification. Meta will carefully review applications based on a number of factors, including the user’s recognition, the general public’s interest, and compliance with Meta’s community standards.
For its Verified Account Service in India, Meta has established a monthly subscription price of Rs. 699 in order to preserve the legitimacy of the verification procedure. The purpose of this fee is to discourage anyone from abusing or misusing the verification system.
Meta announced, “We’re expanding our test of Meta Verified to India after seeing good results from our early testing in several countries globally. We’ll also continue honoring verified badges that were granted previously based on existing criteria.”

Who Can Get Their Site Meta Verified?
Users must be at least 18 years old, have a government-issued ID card, such as an Aadhar Card or a driver’s license, and meet minimum activity criteria, including having a history of past posts, in order to subscribe to Meta Verified.
The applicants must submit a government ID that matches the profile name and image of the Facebook or Instagram account they are requesting.
Pricing And Availability
In India, direct purchases of Meta Verified have begun to be made on Facebook or Instagram. On iOS and Android, a monthly membership costs ₹699. Meta will also roll out web based buying option in the upcoming months for ₹599 per month.
Interested individuals can join the waitlist through the Facebook Web Account Centre to receive notifications about the availability of web shopping, if they wish to make an online purchase.
